covid-19 and Farming

Shelves in the new farm store under construction

With many farm markets closed for the foreseeable future, and the need for me to self isolate (asthma and genetic auto immune disorder, caring for my 88 year old mother), I have decided to move product sales to an online platform. The new farm store, still under construction, is closed and the farm is closed to drop in visitors. I will be open on Saturdays for prepaid order pickup only, and pickup customers are urged to send one person only, to maintain physical distancing and not to attend if displaying any symptoms. If you are ill, in quarantine or a member of a vulnerable group, please contact me directly to see if I can arrange front porch delivery.

On the farm, we are disinfecting touched surfaces frequently. We use gloves to package goods, and all multiple use containers are disinfected after each use. We have a bottle of hand sanitizer available when customers pick up their orders, which are outside and self serve.

I have spent an inordinate amount of time setting up an online store with a laptop that is clearly well past its prime and a DSL Internet service that crashes at frequent intervals. Nevertheless, I think I should be ready to launch by April 3, at which time I will send an email to all customers on my email distribution list, and there will be a link on this website and on my Facebook business page, for you to access the online store. If you would like to be on the email list, you may sign up on this website and get a free egg recipe book at the same time. I will not bombard you with email, you may unsubscribe at any time, but I will let you know what is available at the farm, and you can order, prepay, and pickup your nutritious, local, organic food. Stay well.
